Gross!!!

Can you say - GROSS!!!  On Friday when I picked Drew up from Grammy's house he was very clingy and wanted to be held then when we got home he seemed to be getting sick.  He layed around and watched television, took a nap, etc...  It was crazy and totally out of character for him.  Finally, we realized he had a pretty high temperature so we gave him meds and sent him to bed.  On Saturday morning he seemed to be doing okay and he didn't have a temp any more so we thought we were out of the woods - yeah right!  On Saturday we shopped, ate, went to his baseball game, etc...  Saturday night the kiddos went over the Aunt Catherine and Uncle Phil's house because we had our Share Group over and Catherine text asking if Drew could take medicene???  When we went to get him she said he said his throat was hurting and he didn't eat.  If you know Drew you know that is crazy because he is an eater!  So Catherine gave him meds and when we got him home we got the handy dandy flash light and checked out his throat and sure enough there were red bumps and some ulcer looking things so I thought no doubt he had strep so I knew Sunday we would be heading to the dr.  So Sunday we got up and tried to decided where to take him and we decided on one of those little minute clinic places so we started getting ready and when we put him in the bath he started complain about his foot so Blakely being the little mother that she is said "Drew, Let me see?" She checked it out and said "Oh, it's okay it just a little blister thing!"  So we continued getting ready and he kept complaining about it so finally I said okay let me see and when I looked I could see little wart looking things all over the bottom of his foot.  It was really gross so we knew we need to get him to the doctor.  As soon as the doctor saw him she said he has "Hand Foot Mouth Disease"!  By then it had started to show up on both of his feet, on both hands, all ovre his tongue, the back of this throat, his face, etc...  It is really nasty.  It is like little blister/ulcers everywhere.  They are like open so they hurt and itch pretty bad.  Needless to say he really can't eat much and it is hard to walk.  He looks like a little duck waddling around here.  Poor thing!  Well, the doctor said he isn't allowed to go to school for two days so lucky me - I get to be the one to stay home with him tomorrow - fun, fun!!! And Phillip gets to be the lucky one Tuesday.  It's going to be a loooong couple days with this whinny one but I guess that is what moms do.  The doctor did give us some meds for the itching so hopefully that will help  - wish us luck and pray your kiddos never get this it is really nasty!

Oh and we got him to eat a popsicle that is why the crazy colored tongue!
