At the Lake

As you have already read we have a really busy March so this weekend we decided to head to the lake after Drew's baseball game for some relaxation. We had a GREAT time and the weather was PERFECT! It was in the low 80's. We took a nice long boat ride and the kids loved it! After the boat ride we just hung out at the house and let the kids blow bubbles, sidewalk chalk, etc... They really enjoy going over their - Blakely especially! She ask about going ALL the time. She says she loves going over their "because my Daddy is SO funny when we are their!" Not sure what that means - maybe a few too many adult beverages for Daddy - ha ha!! Anyway, they were so excited when we got to spend the night their last night. We grilled out and even had a bon fire. It was a perfect day! Today we just relaxed and then we headed over to Oxford to do a little shopping before heading home to get ready for the next crazy week.

March Madness

March Madness - and we are not talking basketball here! March is such a busy, crazy month. Just ask any teacher. March is the month where we start all the registration type stuff for next school year and start wrapping up stuff for this school year. It is a great deal of extra work and long hours but it is kind of exciting to - it means the end of the year is quickly approaching. It is also exciting to see all the upcoming freshman and how excited they are about High School. Not only do we complete the advisement process for our current and upcoming students in March but we are also in the middle of a Learning Focus School training as well as we are being trained for Class Keys which is going to be the way we are evaluated next year. All of these training have meetings and homework attached to them! Also in the month of March we have meetings – CTAE, IEP, SLC, etc… It’s crazy and I’m not done yet! We also have grades due for report cards and next week is GHSGT followed by Freshman Expo! We also have a DECA club meeting this month and I have scheduled guest speakers in my classroom. Also somewhere in there we have to fit in our Year End Evaluation and this is just what is going at school (after school)! On the home front we have just about the same amount of “madness”! We have some celebrations this month – which is good thing! We have Catherine’s birthday, Twins friend’s birthday parties to attend as well as a couple baby showers and Quinn and Jim’s Anniversary! We also have the Seeds of Faith Preschool Silent Auction where the twin’s get to show off what they learn during music class. Oh! And we have church on Wednesday night and choir practice. We also meet with the share group once during the month. Also each week we have our regulars - dance for Blakely and baseball practice and games for Drew. We also have to do some things for St. Patrick’s Day this month as well as send in snacks for the preschool & baseball. Also somewhere amongst the madness I decided to get things together for the Bright Star Kids Consignment Sale! I don’t know what I was thinking. And last but not least I scheduled a colonoscopy for this month! As you can see it is a Mad Crazy Month! Not all of it is bad and like Phillip and my Mom tell me often I bring a lot of it on myself and I know that but what I bring on myself is the things that I like to do – like the St. Patrick’s Day goodies for the kids class! Oh well – it might be a crazy, busy, chaotic life but I LOVE it! I mean really who cares about a clean house we are never their anyway with a schedule like this! I really do like being busy. I do much, much better when I am busy otherwise I turn into a procrastinator. I would like a little more time to do some of the things that I enjoy like making crafts, scrapbooking, sewing, etc… but we’ll see maybe I can get some of that done over the summer! Ha Ha – as if it is not any busier! Anyway – hopefully we can relax a little as we are going to the lake this weekend after Drew’s game! Oh! Dad’s going never mind! (Just Kidding Dad – we appreciate all your hard work and all the hard work you make us do. Without you it would probably never get done!)

I'm so LUCKY to have you!

Happy St. Patrick's Day! This is a little treat I made for the Twins class at school. I found the tag template -"I'm so LUCKY to have you!" online and I just thought it was too, too cute! Then on another site I found the Lucky Charm Counting Sheet and thought what a perfect idea for 3 and 4 year olds! I knew my kiddos would love it! So tonight we worked on putting them together - they thought it was GREAT fun! I think they ate more Lucky Charms than were actually in the bags but I am glad they enjoyed it. They don't go to school Thursday so they are going to be celebrating tomorrow - we have their green layed out, ironed and ready to go! They are so excited because they are supposed to bring something in to help them try and catch the Leprechaun! Blakely decided to bring in big, shiny coins and Drew is bringing tape! I can't wait to hear ALL about it tomorrow. Have fun and Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Way to Go!

The Prowlers had their first game this past Saturday and they did a GREAT job! All the boys and girl (1 girl) did super. They were all so excited. I think the thing they were most excited about was their uniforms. They looked so cute in them. All the kids got to bat twice. Drew did a good job at this - we were so proud! They were a little confused about running the bases but it was so cute. Some ran towards the pitchers mound, third base, the dug out, etc... The kids didn't seem as interested in playing in the field. We had a couple who cried, a couple who played in the dirt/grass, etc... When the ball was hit most of the time the entire team ran towards the ball - too, too funny! It was so cute. I can't wait until the next game!

Gooooooo Prowlers!

Drew got his baseball uniform today and he is SO excited. As you can see from the pictures it is quite big on him but he doesn't care - he think it is just GREAT! He is so proud. Once we put it on him he immediately wanted to play baseball and then he wanted to play baseball with Blakely. He wanted to be the coach and her the player. They are tooooo funny! I had to bribe him to get it off him. He even wanted to wear it to bed. I can't wait until the first game Saturday!

All About Blakely...

Or should I say "All About Me" because that basically describes Blakely! She is 3 1/2 years old. She is short and weights about 29 pounds. She is currently wearing a size 3 in clothes and about a 7/8 in shoes. Her favorite colors are purple and pink. She is ALL girl! She played soccer in the Fall and loved it but now she is taking dance and she LOVES it! I really think we need to get her into gymnastics - she flips all around the house and is determined to figure out a cartwheel. She is supposed to get her dance costume this week at class and she can't wait! She doesn't like television to much she would rather be writing/scribbling in her "journal", putting make up on, or making crafts. She is quite sassy. Phillip calls her our "little sweettart" because she is a little bit sweet but a whole lot of tart! That is so true! She is very, very head strong! She never forgets and she never gives up. She gives Grandma a run for her money. She is definitely the boss - poor Drew - he doesn't have a chance. She loves her Drewbie. She likes to boss him around but she likes to look out for him too! She is a very appreciative kid. If you give her something she will never forget. She remembers exactly who gave it to her and when and she is always sure to say Thank You! She likes clothes and accessories. We can't walk out of the house unless we are dressed to the nines - with matching hairbow and all. She is not really into one particular thing - like one character or anything she just basically likes anything girly - the girlier the better! She LOVES school! She loves learning to write her letters and of course she loves the crafts - that's my girl! Her best friend is Larkin. We hear about Larkin daily - too sweet! She sings in the toddler choir at church on Wednesday and she absolute loves it! I think this is her favorite thing. When she gets up from nap on Wednesday she ask about it constantly and keeps saying we are going to be late! She loves to eat as well. She doesn't eat as much as Drew but will also pretty much eat anything you put in front of her. She doesn't like to sit - she likes to constantly be doing something. She is an on the go kind of girl. She wakes up in the a.m. asking what and where we are going for the day. She doesn't like to stay home. Well - that's my girl and I love her so, so much!

All About Drew...

Hi! Let me tell you a little bit about Drew... He is 3 1/2 years old. He is short and weighs about 30 pounds. He is currently wearing about a size 3 in clothes and about an 8/9 in shoes. His favorite color is Blue! His favorite sports is...everything! He played soccer in the Fall and is currently playing t-ball. He loves the "Go Georgia Bulldogs!" He LOVES television and especially likes the shows The Fresh Beat Band and Dino Dan. He just recently began throwing tantrums - I mean full blow tantrums! Don't wake him up from a nap. He LOVES his kee-kee (Blakely). He runs to her if she is hurt/upset and he will not take anyone being ugly to her. He likes dogs and really just animals in general even bugs! YUCK! He loves just hanging out at home and playing! I think my days of dragging him shopping with me are coming to and end. He loves the outdoors and hunting/camping with Papa. He is a sweet kid - very sensitive. He doesn't like to get in trouble nor does he like to see anyone else in trouble or upset. He really cares! He is beginning to not want to show much affection - like a hug or cuddle! :( His favorite outfit is his Go Georgia Bulldog outfit from Halloween and he would wear it everyday if we would allow. He is beginning to play more rough and tough like a boy. I guess boys will be boys. He is over his trains and now is more into Matchbox Cars, Super Heroes, Tonka Trucks, Dinosaurs, etc... He loves school - Seeds of Faith Preschool, Marvelous Monkey's! I think he loves the social part - playground, gym, snack time - I'm not so sure about the actual academic part. He is not to into drawing, cutting, etc. He sings in the toddler choir at church and LOVES it! He loves to eat and will eat just about anything you give him. He loves for me to lay in his bed with him at night and "talk a little bit" when I ask what he wants to talk about it normally relates to sports or hunting! He tends to be a momma's boy right now but that is ever changing. He talks SO loud! Well, that's our boy and I love him so much!
