Thanks Uncle Phil - we always love your great sand creations.

Thank you Pa, Grammy & Nanny for a wonderful Spring Break. We had such a wonderful time. The weather was just perfect! The Twins had such a GREAT time with their cousins. They played and played and played each day until they were just exhausted. They all played so well with each other and they were all on their best behavior for the trip. When you put 7 adults and 4 kids (3 of those 3 years old) in one condo some times things can get hectic but they did wonderful! Phillip got to come Saturday until Tuesday night (which we loved!) and we stayed until Saturday. I really enjoyed my self. The kids are becoming more and more independent which gave me a break and allowed me really to enjoy the beach and some adult interaction with the in-laws! Again - THANK YOU so much Pa, Grammy, & Nanny we really appreciate everything.

#4 - #10 All About Me

Sorry but I am a little behind on posting my "daily" All About Me fact! We have been on vacation in Hilton Head and sorry but blog or beach - I pick beach! Well, now that we are home I am getting back on track so here you go...

  • #4 - I hate to cook! Well truly its not that I hate to cook but rather I hate deciding what to cook. I also don't like cooking in small portions I would rather cook for a lot of people. Also - I am a picker eater so that doesn't really help either!

  • #5 - Most of the time I am a happy person and I am easy to get along with. I don’t like to argue with people as I get very emotional.

  • #6 - My favorite cookie is the Oreo! Give me glass of milk and I could eat the whole package.

  • #7 - I like to scrapbook, stamp, and just generally make crafts. I don’t really have time to do what I would like to but my mind is constantly full of ideas!

  • #8 - My goal is to learn how to sew/embroider. I can do the basics but would love to be able to sew clothes for the kiddos or actually probably just Blakely! I don’t know how much Drew would like my handmade clothes!

  • #9 - Shop to you drop – that could be my motto. I love it. It doesn't really matter what I am shopping for I just love to do it. Since I have had the twins shopping for their clothes has been my addiction.

  • #10 - I am a teacher, high school business/marketing teacher to be exact. I love it but would rather be a stay-at-home-mom or at least a part-time stay-at-home-mom but since I’m not I do love the interaction with the students, I love to see them grow and develop into mature adults. I love to see their creative ideas. They amaze me and teach me new things every day.

Family

Thank you!

#3 Thing About Me - I love my family and am VERY grateful for them. I don't know what I would do without them - I thought this before children but I really can't imagine now that I have the Twins. They help us so much with them and I really, really appreciate it. They babysit, buy them things, take them places, etc... I am so lucky to have them and I am so glad my kids have them too!

Happy Anniversary!

#2 Thing About Me... I love my hubby! Today is our 6 year anniversary. I can't believe that it has been six years - on one hand it feels just like yesterday but on the other hand it seems like foooooooooooorever! Just Kidding - It has been great! Happy Anniversary Phillip - I love you forever and always!

I found this on the Internet and I just had to use it here -

In honor of our 6 year anniversary, I've pulled together my Top 6 things I learned in 6 years of being married, which would apply to any couples, married or not. (I don't always do them all, but I strive, and that's a start.)

1. When you're right, shut up. When you're wrong, apologize. It ends an argument more quickly, and that generally means less damage in the meantime. (If only I listened to this.)

2. Despite what the experts say, it's OK to go to bed angry. (Would we ever sleep if we didn't :)) Your spouse can piss you off more than just anyone else, and sometimes some distance -- like 8 hours of sleep -- can change perspective for each of you.

3. Your spouse isn't going to change. The things that annoy you about him (or her) when you are dating will just get worse and become more and more annoying. Be ready for it, and be willing to love him (or her) the way he (or she) is.

4. If you have kids, present a united front when the kids are in earshot at all costs (unless your partner advocates something that might seriously harm the kids, of course.) Undermining your spouse's opinion in front of the kids can really wear on a relationship. If you disagree about his ruling on whether your son can watch a certain TV show, for example, discuss it privately. You have a right to make your case -- just don't use it as ammunition.

5. Tell your spouse you love him (or her) more often than you think you need to. Sure he (or she) knows it, but what's the harm in making someone feel super loved. No one ever died of being loved too much.

6. When your spouse gets inordinately upset about something, there's probably something else going on. He (or she) is probably really troubled about something totally unrelated. Be the mature one and hear him (or her), rather than complain that he (or she) is "blowing things out of proportion." You'll end up supporting him (or her) instead of fighting.

Happy April!

Well - as you know my birthday is this month - April 26th to be exact and I thought it would be a great idea to tell you 26 things about ME! I will tell you one thing each day until we get to the big day so stay tuned.... (I sound like Quinn counting down. Quinn always starts in early February or sometimes even January counting down her birthday for us!)

#1 - I love being a mommy, especially a TWIN mommy. I love those little munchkins so much it is crazy! I always knew I wanted kids but I didn't know it would feel like this. Here are a few of my favorite things about being a TWIN Mom:

  • Sweet Angel: There is always someone in a good mood. Inevitably if one kid is having a tantrum, the other is being an angel.

  • 2-For-1 Bonus: One pregnancy, two babies - only one childbirth, one childbirth recovery, and one newborn sleeplessness period, and you get TWO kids out of the deal.

  • A Bond: crawling together, holding each other hand, talking to each other, kissing each other, being more than best friends, etc... This bond starts even before birth and hopefully it will continue for all their lives.

  • Don't sweat the small stuff - you don't have time with two!

  • Double Everything: Double hugs, double kisses, mommy-in-the-middle "sandwich", Twin spankings, etc.

  • Alike, but Different: It is fascinating to observe twins. They are so alike, yet SO different. It is interesting to see them develop as individuals.

  • A Sense of Status: Okay, I'll admit it! I get a thrill of pride in being a mom of Twins. It's like being in a club. I love the reaction I get when I tell people I have twins. "Wow!" "I always wanted twins." "I don't know how you do it..."

  • Sharing: Twins share EVERYTHING - their birthday, their parents' attention, and most of their stuff! Although sometimes this can be hard for them it is fun to watch the unselfishness they display from time to time.

Stay tuned for #2...

Home Away From Home - My Classroom!

This is definitely my home away from home since I spend the majority of the day here. We were taking pictures of our classrooms for something at work so I thought I would post a couple here! It is fun to look back and see how things have changed and evolved over time. My classroom is definitely ever changing with all the new expectations, theories, and trainings that we go through each year and I thought it would be neat to look back on. I cut out the majority of the the things that you see on my Silhouette! I still LOVE that thing!

I love YELLOWBOX Flip Flops!

These have to be the most comfortable shoes every. I LOVE them! I got my first pair when I was prego with the Twins and I wore them the whole time. Ever since then I have to get a couple pair each summer. They are basically all I wear all summer. As you can see - I have grown a collection over the past couple summers. They just went on sale last week and I got me two more - that means summer is quickly approaching! :)
