Run, Run, Run!!!

Sorry but with everything going on I have gotten a little behind on my blogging lately!  A couple of Friday's ago the Twins ran in another race for their Road Runners program that they are in.  This race was actually sponsored by their school so they really enjoyed that because they knew quite a few people in the race.  This race was an entire mile - which for these little guys was quite a ways but they did great.  They of course weren't first but they actually weren't last either!  We were so proud of them.  I mean I don't think I could even run a mile and all I wanted them to do is finish and that they did.  This race was ran at Clinton Farms and they got to run through the woods on a trail rather than on a track.  The trail made it much more interesting for them.  A special thanks goes out to Eli's Mom, Angie for running with Drew.  At the start line Drew had a little trip and she stayed back with him got his glasses back on and stayed with him for the rest of the race.  Thank you sooooo much!  I still have had my boot on so no running for me.  I am so glad the kids are enjoying doing this.  It is great for their health and it is fun as well.

A Walk on the WILD side!

After Drew's baseball game on Saturday we left and headed to Zoo Atlanta.   He had free tickets from the library but you have to use them within 7 days so we had to go this weekend.  The weather wasn't great but oh well it was free.  We had a good time despite getting all rained on.  The kids enjoyed it and I didn't feel the stress that we had to see and do everything because we paid to get in.  We just took our time and saw what we wanted to and didn't see everything but when we had enough we left and the kids really enjoyed it.  We saw a lot and they had fun.

It's baseball time again!

It's fall ball time!  Drew had his first baseball game this past Saturday.  He was so excited.  He really loves it.  He's not that great but he really does love it.  This year they start the whole coach pitch thing which is a big change and challenge for Drew.  Hopefully, he will get the hang of it sooner rather than later.  They get a couple coach pitches and then if they can't do that they get to give the tee a try.  So far he has done pretty well - no strike outs!  In the field he has been playing in the outfield so he really hasn't seen that much action.  He has got the ball a couple of times but at times I think it is kind of hard to keep his attention out there.  The grass and the planes flying by are much more interesting! :)  He loves it and I guess that is all that matters.  I think he has his father's competitive spirit (or the lack of - ha ha).  He doesn't really care if they win or lose, if he hits or not, he is just there to have a good time.  I guess that is good but Blakely and I have much more of a competitive spirit and we want the win, the best!  So funny how two kids can be SOOOO different.  So we will see how the season goes.  Hopefully it will be a good learning season so they can get ready for the Spring where it is much more competitive.  Have fun Drew and keep up the good work.  Oh and his cousin Matthew is on his team again this season and we just love that.  He is a great ball player and we love to watch him play.  He is a natural!  Will, Drew's older cousin, has moved down the hill at Boundry Water's to play this season where they do kid pitch.  He was a little nervous about that but he doing great and they actually have him in pitching some.  Way to go Will!

Ouch!!!

Well - if you haven't heard or seen - I hurt my foot!  How you ask?  Well, it is really not that exciting of a story.  My kids at school told me that I just need to make up a cool story and wear my nice boot as a badge of honor!  Really what happen was a fell down the stairs.  Over Labor Day Weekend when we were having the yard sale at Nanny's house I was carrying a little nightstand table down the stairs and I made it almost to the bottom before I had the great fall.  In the end me and the nightstand did a not so graceful fall down the stairs.  I knew that it hurt immediately when I did it but I have a pretty high pain tolerance level and I just kind of tried to not think about it and got up and kept moving.  It still hurt but I didn't think it was that bad, then Sunday it was still hurting and swelling, then Monday the same thing but again I just kept thinking it would get better.  Then Tuesday I went to school and it started to swell even more and as I was walking around more at school it started to hurt worse and worse so I got a doctors appoint Tuesday afternoon and sure enough I did hurt it.  I didn't break it but I did tear the ligaments on both sides on my ankle.  They did xrays and checked in all out and put me in this oh, so stylish boot for the next two weeks - fun, fun!!  Then I go back in two weeks and they are going to re-xray and check it out again and hopefully I will get to stop wearing this lovely thing.  It is such a pain and hot!  The doctor said I will probably need some physical therapy when I get the boot off to work up the strength back in it.  So we will see.  I am just ready to walk normal again.  This boot makes small task quite a challenge.  I never realized how much I walk during the day until I had this thing on.

Happy Labor Day!

It's Labor Day Weekend - YEAH!  That means a three day weekend - Double YEAH!!!  We have a FULL weekend planned.  Friday as soon as school was out I headed over to Nanny's house to start setting up for our Yard/Estate Sale that we were going to be having on Saturday morning.  Phillip's parents, Catherine and I worked away setting up while the boys were at baseball.  After baseball Phillip met up with my Dad and gave him Drew so that he could go to the CHHS football game.  He was really excited about that.  Blakely decided she didn't want to attend the game that she would rather hang out with Grandma so that is just what they did.  That night they spent the night with Grandma and Papa so that we could get up early and get the yard sale started with out having them in the way.  We met over at Nanny's at 7:30am and we were pretty busy non-stop.  I can't believe how many people yard sale these days.  I am not really a yard sale person so it really amazed me.  People just come out of the wood work to attend these things and they buy everything.  We are did pretty well at the yard sale so that was a good thing especially since it was such a lot of work.  I think we finally got home around 8 or 9 pm on Saturday so needless to say we were exhausted.

On Monday we met Quinn and some of her friends at the parade in downtown Douglasville.  The kids were so excited.  The parade was pretty good but the attendance was terrible.  There were not many people there at all.  I am not sure if they didn't market the parade well or if it was the weather or what but we didn't have any trouble finding a place to set up and watch.  The kids enjoyed it and got lots and lots of candy which they loved!  After the parade we got a quick lunch and then we headed to the auction to meet Daddy!  We stayed at the auction the major of the day which Phillip loved.

Overall I would say we had a pretty good Labor Day Weekend!
