Go Will!

One night this summer we went to see Will play baseball. Will made the All-Star team at Boundary Waters and we couldn't be prouder of him. He is a great player and we can't wait to see him play again. Good Job - Will! Of course after the game we had to eat so we headed to the the Lazy Donkey - yum, yum!

A Day at Cochran Mill

Today Quinn and I took the Twins to Cochran Mill. I have heard about this place many times before but we have never been so we really didn't know what we were headed to but in the end we had a GREAT day. Cochran Mill has an animal rescue program and you can pay a small fee to see all the animals. This was right up Drew's alley. We were the only ones there that morning so the lady gave us our own personal tour. She even took some animals out so we could get a closer look and even touch. Drew's favorite by far was the alligator! After checking out all the animals they have a pond with lots and lots of fish that you can feed. The kiddos LOVED doing this. After we finally used up all of our fish food we embarked on a hike. We hiked about two miles - one mile in and one mile out. With two three year olds we weren't to sure how this would go but they LOVED it. They kept singing "we are going on an adventure". It was too cute. At the end of our hike we came to a waterfall so we let the kids get in the water. It was hot so this was much needed. Along the way we even saw a turtle. Drew thought that was great. Blakely liked the day but at one point said "When are we going to the mall?" That's my girl! I like nature but at the mall is where I would rather be! Anyway - after our hike we headed over to the picnic area because we were starving. They also had a playground so the kiddos were thrilled. After we left Cochran Mill we decide to go for a little drive and find the new community that everyone is talking about - Serenbe. We found it and it was SO cute! We loved it. We got out and let the kiddos play on the tree house before heading home for a much, much, much needed rest by all of us big kids and little kids.

Play Date

Okay so I have been so bad when it comes to blogging lately - sorry - but I guess you could take it to mean that we have had a fun and busy summer. So I am going to attempt to FINALLY catch up! At the beginning of the summer we had a "Play Date" at our house. The Twins were so excited to have friends come over. It was just toooooo cute! We had Max and Larkin come over as well as their mother's and their little brothers. So all together we had 6 kiddos. We had lunch and then we sent the kids down to the basement to play so that we (the moms) could enjoy some adult interaction time. Fun was had by all - can't wait to do it again!

Summer Fun

We have been trying to do something fun everyday this summer and today we headed for a picnic and playground time at Hunter Park followed by a trip to the library to check out some books and see the reptile man. Drew was so excited about the reptile man especially when he brought out the alligator. Blakely was not so impressed - she was more excited about checking out books. We had a great time but after all that excitement we needed a nap. More fun tomorrow.....

Chapel Hill High School Cheer Camp

Blakely participated in Chapel Hill High School's Cheer Camp and she LOVED it! At first she was a little skeptical but later we found out that was due to me (bad mommy) not packing her a snack. She informed me that ALL the kids brought lunch boxes with snacks! How was I supposed to know - this was our first cheer camp. Anyway - after we started packing her a snack all was good. She loved all of the high school cheerleaders, she loved the cheer camp t-shirt, she loved the crafts, she loved the cheers, the chants, and mostly I think she loved the dance. She did so good during the performance for the parents. She was jamming!!!! I think I am definitely going to have a little cheerleader on my hands and I love it!
