Time to practice...

Now it is rehearsal time!  After our fun day at the zoo we headed home to get ready, all dolled up and ready to go.  The wedding venue was about 30 minutes from Butler which was nice because it gave the kids time for a little rest before they had to be "on" again.  The wedding venue was really, really nice.  It is a property that has I think three barns and a couple houses on it.  I loved it!  I was a little nervous at the rehearsal because they only had the kids practice one time and they didn't have the chairs set up so I had to try to explain to them that there would be chairs, you have to walk down the middle, you have to stand here, follow her out, etc...  So I was a little nervous but I thought they would do okay.  While they rest of the wedding party was practicing we had a chance to take quite a few pictures as you can see and I just thought they all looked so cute all dressed up that we couldn't stop snapping! (sorry for ALL the pics!)  After the rehearsal we headed to a place called Conley's for the rehearsal dinner.  It was really nice.  It was a buffet style dinner which was quite yummy especially after chasing three kids around for over an hour.  At the dinner Kelsey and Tom gave the kids the cutest little gifts.  They were these little bags that had a pocket on the front and then then they unzipped and inside they had crayons, chalk, paper, and a chalkboard.  It was just the perfect gift.  They even had their names on the outside and Drew's was camo.  You can't get much better than that for him.  Thank you so much Kelsey and Tom.  Now off to bed so we can shine tomorrow...

Living Treasures

On Friday while we were in Pennsylvania we headed to Living Treasures and it was a lot of fun.  It is a great place for kids.  They all seemed to love it.  Thanks for the great idea and plans Jill.  We couldn't decide what to do because we had to be at the wedding rehearsal on Friday evening, the girls and their mom's had school, and we didn't know what the weather was going to be like so we couldn't decide.  So finally Jill decided that she would take a half day off school and that the girls would as well and we would head to this zoo and check it out pending the weather. Well, the weather ended up being wonderful so we headed on and I am sure glad we did.  It was a really neat place where you got to get really close to the animals and you got to feed most of them.  They really loved that - even Maya!  One of the really neat things that happened while we were there was that one of the goats had some babies while we were there.  We didn't actually see the birth (thank goodness - although it would have been pretty neat) but we did see them just moments later.  It was so neat and gross at the same time.  I am sure glad my kids are to young to ask to many questions!!  Anyway, we got to see the babies stand up and walk for the first time and Blakely even got to pet one of them.  It was the neatest thing.  We just couldn't stop watching them.  I think the older girls learned more here today than they would have at school.  It was a fun afternoon and again THANK YOU Jill for taking us. Off to the rehearsal we go....

Our Plane Ride

Last Thursday we headed to Pennsylvania for Kelsey and Tom's wedding and thanks to my mom and her bingo winnings and her Delta benefits we got to fly.  This made the trip so much nicer.  I just was not looking forward to the lovely twelve hour drive so this hour and a half flight was wonderful.  Also the kids were SO excited to fly on a plane.  They have flown before but they were little and don't remember so they were really looking forward to it - especially Drew.  So Thursday we headed to the airport pretty early in the morning and boarded our plane because we were flying standby we didn't get to pick our seats and we just happened to get the last seats on the plane and we didn't get a window.  Drew was pretty bummed about this but he did some peaking over the people in front of him so he could see a little.  The kids were GREAT on the plane.  They played on their ipods and read a few books and then it was time to land.  It was fun and an easy flying experience.  I am so glad they got to experience this thanks Grandma!!!

Kindergarten - What?

Last week we went and register the Twins for Kindergarten - yes, you heard it right, Kindergarten!!!  Can you believe it?  I can't.  I know everyone says time flies but WOW I am really feeling it now.  It seems like just yesterday we were registering them for 2 year old preschool and now here we are registering them for Kindergarten.  Oh well, here we go...  The registration was really nice and very well organized.  They had different stations for you to go to - one to get paperwork, one to turn in paperwork, one to sign up for a time for their assessment, etc. and then we ended up on the cafeteria where they went through a little PowerPoint presentation where they told us about the "new" kindergarten - tell us it is not like the kindergarten we remember.  They also told us what they expect of the students and what they would like for the students to know as they enter.  Needless to say we better get working!  No really, I was actually pretty surprised the Twins know most of what was on the list but we will see how the assessment goes.  They are pretty excited about going to Kindergarten and about going to a new school.  We will see what they think come August!
