Apple Pickin'

Today we headed up to Ellijay to go apple pickin'! The whole fam went - Mom, Dad, Phillip, Me, Blakely, Drew, Quinn, Jim & of course - Maya! We set out at about 8:30 am and every one was so excited and eager to get picking but once we got there we found out that they only do the tractor ride back to pick the apples in September. We were SO disappointed because we have been taking the Twin's for the past couple years and they love and it and talk about it year round. So we just looked around the shop, tasted the different apples they had to offer and made our selections of course we didn't walk out of there with out a few yummy treats. We got apple butter, apple doughnuts, apple cider slushy, of course different kinds of apples, etc... Can't wait to try it all out! After making our purchases we headed outside where they had a little area where you could walk and go pick one kind of apples so we did that so the kids wouldn't be completely disappointed. Each kiddo picked a bag so they were happy! While at the apple orchard we met up with one of my mother's long time friends, Nancy Hulsey. It was really great to see her. She just recently moved up to Ellijay so it worked out perfect. We also got to see her husband, Larry and her son and his wife and son. It was really good to see them. After leaving the apple orchard we headed to the pumpkin patch...

Share Group & St. Mountain

Tonight we headed to St. Mountain with our Share Group from church. We met at the church at 4pm and then we caravaned to the Mountain! Once we got there and got all set up we ate.  We had chicken and then everyone brought sides and dessert. That worked out perfect. After we ate the kids played and played and played - we chatted and really just enjoyed the evening. This is such a good group with such a cute group of kids. They are all so cute and are really good with each other. Finally it was time for the lasershow the kids were so excited. Amy Spiva brought glow necklaces and I brought glow bracelets so that made it even more fun for them. I mean what would be a lasershow with no glow! All the kids (and adults) seems to really enjoy the show. We had a couple of littles that weren't too fond of the loud fireworks but overall I think everyone had a GREAT time! I know our family did. Can't wait to do it again.

We had the following families attend: Amy, Ray, and Rex Spiva, Whitney, Phillip, Blakely & Drew Lester, Mindy, Matt & Emily McDonald, Kelli, Paul, Marisa, & Mia Showalter, Kristi, Donald, Tyler & Luke Turner, Allison, Russ, Ebbie, & Ellie Simmons, Lisa, Chad & Payton Schillinger.

Party Time

This Saturday we had two birthday parties to attend. The kids were so excited! The first birthday party was Blakelee Isbill's. They were really excited to go to this party because they haven't seen her in a while. Blakelee went to school with the Twins at Seeds of Faith but this year they are all going to different schools. They were so excited to see her. Of course they acted shy when we first got there but that changed quickly. They also got to see McKenna and her dad Coach Ben - there old soccer coach. They enjoyed that too! Well - this party was at the Gold Museum in Villa Rica. It was a great party! First we watch a little movie about the history of gold in Georgia then we went through the museum. After that we headed out to do some panning. The kids got to pan for some neat rocks - gems! and the adults got to pan for gold. It was really fun. After all the panning we headed back to the picnic area for pizza, decorating cupcakes and of course singing Happy Birthday! They also had animals that they kids got to look at and pet. It was a very unique party and the twins LOVED it. Thank you Blakelee for inviting us - we had a GREAT time! After we left this party we headed over to a party for one of the boys in there new Pre-K class at Sikes - Micah! Micah had a pirate party. Drew was super excited about this. They had a big blow up jumpy thing which was perfect. They kids definitely wore themselves out. They jumped on the jumpy thing, jump on the trampoline and played on the swing set then we had cake and punch, sang Happy Birthday and opened presents. Before we left we also did a little painting. This was a great party. Micah was such a sweet kid! Thanks for inviting us Micah - we had a GREAT time! Now we are exhausted - off to bed we gooooooooooooooooooo!
