Fireworks

Today the kids and I headed to Carrollton for the fireworks. Phillip stayed home to sleep since we are leaving for the beach as soon as we get home and he will be driving ALL night. So we headed to Chick-fil-a to get us some dinner so we could picnic before the fireworks. Sounds like a great plan right? - well it didn't quite go as planned. We got the Chick-fil-a, we found a great place to park, we got all set up then we saw some people we know so we went to talk and when we came back guess what? The ants had already decided to have a picnic with our food. They were everywhere. It was terrible. It was hot, we were hungry, I hadn't brought anything with us - it was bad. But in the end the nicest people sat next to us and they gave us water. They also had sparklers, poppers, glow bracelets, etc... so we ended up having a great time. Now let's head to the beach...

We are WILD about God!

Vacation Bible School 2011- the kids and I attended Vacation Bible School this week and we had a GREAT time. The bible school is only open to kids in 1st through 5th grade however since I was working vacation bible school they let the kiddos go and they do a great program with the preschool kids. They enjoyed everything so much. They sang, made crafts, played on the playground, had snack, etc... It was just perfect for them. The theme this year was Pandamania aka Panda Day as Drew called it! Thank you 1st Presbyterian for putting on such a great event. Also thanks Dad for buying them the CD of the Pandamania music - they won't stop listening to it in the car!

Get'em Drew

This weekend we headed over to the lake. The weather wasn't so good so decided to drive over to the Bass Pro Shop and Outlets. The outlet shopping center was really nice - new, neat, and clean. I loved it but of course Drew wanted to check out the Bass Pro Shop so that is just what we did and he LOVED it. He loved looking at all the animals and they even had a place you could pretend shoot deer. That was great for him. Blakely well she endured it - there is just somethings sisters have to do for their brothers. They both got some fishing worms so they had a ball playing with those on the way back to the lake.

Go Will!

One night this summer we went to see Will play baseball. Will made the All-Star team at Boundary Waters and we couldn't be prouder of him. He is a great player and we can't wait to see him play again. Good Job - Will! Of course after the game we had to eat so we headed to the the Lazy Donkey - yum, yum!

A Day at Cochran Mill

Today Quinn and I took the Twins to Cochran Mill. I have heard about this place many times before but we have never been so we really didn't know what we were headed to but in the end we had a GREAT day. Cochran Mill has an animal rescue program and you can pay a small fee to see all the animals. This was right up Drew's alley. We were the only ones there that morning so the lady gave us our own personal tour. She even took some animals out so we could get a closer look and even touch. Drew's favorite by far was the alligator! After checking out all the animals they have a pond with lots and lots of fish that you can feed. The kiddos LOVED doing this. After we finally used up all of our fish food we embarked on a hike. We hiked about two miles - one mile in and one mile out. With two three year olds we weren't to sure how this would go but they LOVED it. They kept singing "we are going on an adventure". It was too cute. At the end of our hike we came to a waterfall so we let the kids get in the water. It was hot so this was much needed. Along the way we even saw a turtle. Drew thought that was great. Blakely liked the day but at one point said "When are we going to the mall?" That's my girl! I like nature but at the mall is where I would rather be! Anyway - after our hike we headed over to the picnic area because we were starving. They also had a playground so the kiddos were thrilled. After we left Cochran Mill we decide to go for a little drive and find the new community that everyone is talking about - Serenbe. We found it and it was SO cute! We loved it. We got out and let the kiddos play on the tree house before heading home for a much, much, much needed rest by all of us big kids and little kids.

Play Date

Okay so I have been so bad when it comes to blogging lately - sorry - but I guess you could take it to mean that we have had a fun and busy summer. So I am going to attempt to FINALLY catch up! At the beginning of the summer we had a "Play Date" at our house. The Twins were so excited to have friends come over. It was just toooooo cute! We had Max and Larkin come over as well as their mother's and their little brothers. So all together we had 6 kiddos. We had lunch and then we sent the kids down to the basement to play so that we (the moms) could enjoy some adult interaction time. Fun was had by all - can't wait to do it again!
