Stinchcomb's Annual Halloween Party

Last weekend we went to the Stinchcomb's Annual Halloween Party. It was a lot of fun! The kiddos were so excited to dress up in their costumes. They asked ALL day is it time???? Final it was and they look so cute! As you can see from the pictures we had a cupcake - Blakely and a cheeseburger - Drew or like they like to say it "Dinner and Dessert"! The party was wonderful as usual. Stefanie is about the most creative person I know. I don't know how she comes up with everything she does. I also don't know how she has the time and energy to do everything she does. Everything was decorated so cute she didn't leave any detail out. The kids played and played and played. They played so hard they were asleep before we even got out of the neighborhood. Thank you Stinchcomb Family for another wonderful Halloween party!

DECA

New Manchester High School

Last week I took the DECA organization to the DECA Fall Rally in Perry, Ga at the National Fairgrounds. We had a GREAT time. It took us a little over two hours to get there but the girls didn't mind they talked the whole way! Once we got there we listen to a motivational speaker who was GREAT! After the speaker the students had to take a general marketing test - not so fun - but after the test they got to go ride whatever they wanted = fun! They got to ride rides from about 11:30 - 3:00. At 3:00 they had the closing ceremony where we found out we won t-shirt contest. We were so surprised and excited. Our t-shirts says Scan Me... and they have a real scanable bar code. Once you scan the bar code with a smart phone it says - "You're not a member of DECA - What the hecka? Join Chapel Hill DECA today! www.deca.org" It was a fun day! The following students went with me - Kelsey Switzer, Morgan Taylor, Sawyer Wilson, Faith Hall, & Gabby Lord.

Our First Field Trip!

Yesterday the Twins went on their first field trip and they had so much fun and I was lucky enough to be able to attend as well. We left for the field trip at about 9am on a school bus! They were so excited about this. They have always wanted to ride on a school bus and this was their first time and they were smiling from ear to ear when I got on the bus. It was SO sweet! Once we all loaded the bus we headed to Villa Rica to the Pumpkin Patch. It was a great day. It was quite chilly outside so the kiddos (and adults) had to be all bundled up. When we got to the patch they divided us into groups and we went to complete the different activities. It was a lot of fun! Our first activity was a nature walk. The kids loved this. As we walked through the forest the leader had the students look for different animals. They loved trying to find them and they were actually pretty good at it. When we got to the deer - Drew said I know what that is - a buck because it has horns! Papa should be proud - he taught him something. After the nature walk they got to play on the playground for a little while and then we panned for gems. This was really neat and most of the students haven't done this before so they thought it was great. After the panning we headed over and made a class scarecrow. Each kid got to participate in making the scarecrow by putting hay in and then as a class they picked a head and gave it a name "Scary"! This was really cute. After that we headed on a hay ride to the pumpkin patch. Once at the pumpkin patch the kids got to get off and get a mini pumpkin. This was fun! Next we fed the animals. They had pigs, goats, chickens, etc... Some of the kids were a little apprehensive of the animals but for the most part they loved it. After this we walked back and played on the playground a while and then had lunch. Each kid got to bring their own sack lunch and that was really special. It was so cute to see them all open up their lunchboxes and see what they had. For most this was the first time they ever packed a lunch box so they loved this. It was funny to see them all check out what each other had. Most of the kids didn't seem to eat much as they were to busy looking around and looking at each other however my little munchers ate away. I actually could have packed them more than I did which was a lunchable with ham, cheese, crackers, a drink and a Butterfingers as well as a thing of string cheese and applesauce. They were SO hungry and had been asking about lunch since about 9:30am. I thought they just wanted their new lunchboxes but I guess they were a little hungry. After our picnic lunch we headed back to the bus and the back to the school. This was a great field trip. Thank you Sikes and everyone that had something to do with making this happen for the kiddos. They had a great time and these are the kind of thing the kids will remember. After being with all those pre-kers all day I can't imagine doing that. Those are some special people. We had 20 students from the Twins class go and that can be a handful but they managed very well. Again - thanks for everything and I can't wait until the next field trip.

Cotton Pickin' Fair

A couple of weeks ago Mom, Quinn, Blakely, Maya and I headed down to Gay, GA to the Cotton Pickin' Fair. We had a great time. The weather was a little chilly and windy but it got better as the day progressed. We had a great time looking at the different booths. Of course I love the children's clothing booths and they always have so much to choose from. We shopped until we were worn out. We stopped for a bite to eat and Blakely got the biggest corn dog ever! She loved it. We had a great day. I can't wait to go again.

Poor Miss Maya!

Little Miss Maya had to get tubes put in her ears. She has been sick with a cold and ear infections almost the whole time Quinn and Jim have had her so finally the doctor decided it was time to put the ear tubes in. She did great. It was a quick procedure and hopefully it will really help. It is tooooo sad to see little ones like this. We hope you get better Miss Maya!

Pumpkin Pickin'

From Apple Pickin' to Pumpkin Pickin'! After we left the apple orchard we headed over to the pumpkin patch - Burt's Farm in Dawsonville. This place was wonderful. They had every size pumpkin and kind of pumpkin you could ever imagine. The kids loved it! They couldn't believe how big some of the pumpkins were. Each kiddo picked out a pumpkin and Papa and Grandma bought it for them - THANKS! We also went on the hay ride which was a lot of fun. It was about a 20 min. hay ride with neat things along the way like singing pumpkins! The kids thought this was great especially Maya. She loved the hay! It was fun but having Maya along with us this year made it extra special. She was so happy and excited about everything all day and we were so excited to have her officially part of our family and for her to be able to enjoy the special "Albert Family Fun Days" with us! Well, after finding the perfect pumpkin, taking the hayride, having some snacks, and many photo ops we headed back towards Atlanta but of course we had to stop for a much needed meal! Today was a great family day. I am so happy that my kiddos get to enjoy days like this with their Grandparents, Parents, Aunt & Uncle and Cousin. These are the times they will remember! (And if they don't I will make them look at this and my other many scrapbooks! ha ha)
